Tofu -Teriyaki with green onions

Tofu-Teriyaki with green onions – is one of options of a dish popular in Japan, fried soy cheese with Teriyaki sauce. Tofu-Teriyaki can be served practically to any dish – vegetables, fish, chicken, meat. With brown rice, you will get a vegetarian dish that is hearty and at the same time light.

For cooking you will need:

  • 150 g of brown rice
  • 50 ml of soy sauce TM Hokkaido Club
  • 50 ml of Unagi sauce TM Hokkaido Club
  • 0,5 tea spoon of grated ginger
  • 1 table spoon of honey
  • 350 g of hard tofu
  • 2 table spoons of vegetable oil
  • 1 big bunch of green onions
  • 1 tea spoon of roasted sesame TM Hokkaido Club
  • 1 chili pepper and half of lime for serving

Cooking method:

Boil the rice until ready, following the instructions on the package. Combine soy sauce, grated ginger and honey in a small saucepan, add 50 ml of water. Bring to a boil and simmer for about 5 minutes until the sauce thickens slightly. Cut the tofu into slices 1 cm thick. Brush with oil on both sides. Fry in a grill pan until dark stripes, 2 minutes on each side.

Cut the ends of the feathers in the onion, cut the feathers into pieces 1 cm long. Cut the chili pepper in half lengthwise, remove the seeds and cut across into thin half rings.

Place rice in bowls, sprinkle with sauce. Top with fried tofu, green onions, sprinkle with chili and sesame seeds. Drizzle with Unagi sauce and serve.
